My name is Jenny Chang and I’m the creator and curator of The Lilac Road.
I’m a 26-year-old of Chinese and Vietnamese descent, born in South Korea and raised in the paradise at the end of the world, New Zealand. I’m currently living in Auckland.
I’m an INFJ and a self-confessed coffee addict. Music, films, yoga, meditation, books and travelling the world are just some of my favourite things. I have struggled with depression, anxiety and suicidal thoughts in the past but it is those things that have fueled my passion for mental health.
The Lilac Road is an online space dedicated to empowering you and promoting mental well-being.
I created it in 2014 after struggling with a deep depression for five years. I wanted a space where I could uplift others who are in the same place I was and that was how The Lilac Road was born. From being miserable and suicidal to becoming a woman filled with passion to see others healed, I am breathing proof that healing is always possible, even in the darkest of situations.
And so, I hope these pages are an endless source of inspiration for you, filled with all the good and beautiful things in life that will encourage you on your own journey. Whether you’re passing by or want to hang around a little longer, I want to thank you for visiting this little space of mine.
