My name is Jenny Chang and I’m the creator and curator of The Lilac Road.
I’m a 24-year-old of Chinese and Vietnamese descent, born in South Korea and raised in the paradise at the end of the world, New Zealand. I’m currently living in Bangkok as an expat and working as an ESL teacher, freelance travel writer and blogger.
I’m an INFJ and a self-confessed coffee addict. Music, films, books and travelling the world are just some of my favourite things. I have struggled with depression, anxiety and suicidal thoughts in the past but it is those things that have fueled my passion for empowering women. Read more about my story here.
The Lilac Road is a place where you will find empowerment, inspiration and healing.
I created it in 2014 after struggling with depression for five years. Through plenty of truth, grace and healing, I found recovery. I wanted a space where I could uplift other women who were in the same place I was and that was how The Lilac Road was born.
By no means was this journey easy for me; it has been an uphill battle all the way. But I have now come to a point where I can call myself restored, alive and grateful for life, and it all had to do with the fact that I am a daughter to a redeeming God. From being miserable and suicidal to becoming a woman filled with passion to see other women healed, I am breathing proof that no one is ever too broken for restoration.
And so, I hope these pages are an endless source of inspiration for you, filled with all the good and beautiful things in life that will encourage you on your own journey. Whether you’re passing by or want to hang around a little longer, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for visiting this little space of mine.
