“I will allow space for all the feelings my heart holds. I will not cower or hide from myself. It’s okay to feel the ugly messy things. It’s okay to feel the burning brilliance of beauty. It’s okay to feel the soft winds of happiness and the quiet bursts of loneliness. Its okay to feel it all. It’s okay to be myself, all of myself, not just the good.”
“You work so hard, just to end up at home crying yourself to sleep; remember you’re trying, you are moving mountains that have plagued you since you were young, and you’re trying so hard. Keep fighting, fight until you have won. Fight until you have found your way home, until the sun comes back and your heart learns to love the mornings again.”
If you’re anything like me, it can be so uncomfortable to sit with your negative feelings and let them be. What I’ve learnt over the last few years is that allowing yourself to feel burning pain and vast loneliness is what refines you, makes you stronger and helps you appreciate the times you’re on a mountaintop instead of a dark valley.
