Keep The Good Ones In And The Bad Ones Out

“Being honest may not get you a lot of friends but it’ll always get you the right ones.”
John Lennon

“Avoid people who mess with your head
Avoid people who intentionally and repeatedly do and say things that they know upset you
Avoid people who expect you to prioritize them but refuse to prioritize you
Avoid people who can’t and won’t apologize sincerely

When I started building my self-worth and valuing my time and energy, I started realizing that there were people in my who no longer needed to be in my life anymore. People who drained me whenever I was around them, who only wanted to see me when it was convenient for them and who were not emotionally safe for me to be around. It’s been hard to untie connections I once had with them, but I can tell you that I have so much more love to give to those who are worth my love. It’s just not worth it being around people who treat your friendship like a one-way street. Choose friends who make you come alive, who inspire you and who encourage you to be the best you you can possibly be. Even if you can count your friends on one hand, it’s all you’ll ever need.
