“All I wanted was to live a life where I could be me, and be okay with that. I had no need for material possessions, money or even close friends with me on my journey. I never understood people very well anyway, and they never seemed to understand me very well either. All I wanted was my art and the chance to be the creator of my own world, my own reality. I wanted the open road and new beginnings every day.”
“We travel, initially, to lose ourselves; and we travel, next to find ourselves. We travel to open our hearts and eyes and learn more about the world than our newspapers will accommodate. We travel to bring what little we can, in our ignorance and knowledge, to those parts of the globe whose riches are differently dispersed. And we travel, in essence, to become young fools again- to slow time down and get taken in, and fall in love once more.”
I got the wanderlust bug bad. I’m always thinking about the travels I’ve done and the travels I wish to do in the future. When are you ever going to be this young, free and reckless again? It’s scary I know, and you’re always going to find excuses not to do it. But I believe that if it’s something you really want to do, you’re going to do anything to make it happen. In the end, you’ve just got to do it. Trust me, it will be one of the most fulfilling things you will ever do in your whole life.
